Many children have emotional needs that impact their ability to learn. The guidance program is a comprehensive developmental counseling model meant to reach as many children as possible. Classroom Guidance is an integrative way to reach the highest number of students. Mrs. Melcher visits each classroom about once every 4 weeks and she has lessons on a variety of topics. Mrs. Melcher tries to make the counseling office a welcoming and comfortable place for students to be. Mrs. Melcher’s goal is to help students develop the necessary skills they need to be more successful in the school setting and in their world. The more ownership and self-confidence a student has about school, the more, likely they are to achieve their highest potential.
